We played, attended our flag raising ceremony and read a super book about dinosaurs. The students shared their very own dinosaur creations, and we even had time to make some dinosaur puppets! Thank you for taking the time to help your child create their own dinosaur! They had a blast sharing the details of their dinos, and the class enjoyed listening. Can you believe we had a dino who served tacos at Taco Tico? HA! What a hoot! :)
You have some fabulous children!Mrs. Godwinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16016174411327081316noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8883299167586371306.post-29929257455322388792011-03-09T20:03:00.002-06:002011-03-09T20:14:39.113-06:004th Quarter ...Really???Can you believe our final quarter begins next week? I have to admit, my eyes become quite foggy as I think of your amazing kiddos moving on to Kindergarten. How can I look forward to days without their refreshing smiles, their hilarious stories, their inquisitive facial expressions, their excitement after conquering "the impossible" and of course, their precious hugs. Thankfully, they will only be down the hall next year! :)

The growth your children have made during our journey of Optional Kindergarten is absolutely unbelievable. They are writing, they are sharing, they are counting (to 100, I might add!), they are cutting and pasting, they know the alphabet and sounds letters make. I could go on and on....I truly believe you have given a very special gift to your child. This extra time has blossomed your kiddos into confident little people who are going to knock the socks off their Kindergarten teacher!:)

This month they will have the opportunity to become Kindergartners for a day! Round-up will be March 25th. We will not have school the 24th or 25th. A letter with round-up details was sent the beginning of the week. Please shoot me an email if you haven't received the information.
We've been writing words, writing numbers, discussing stories, counting objects, learning about trees and seasons, singing awesome songs and cutting and pasting! We are writing our names very well, and this week we'll be moving on to our last names!
Last week we had a visitor from Hungary. My sister, Eszter, came to spend the morning with us. She even taught us some Hungarian words! We found Eszter's country on the globe and also learned the name of the ocean she had to fly over on the airplane ride to America. Eszter owns and operates her own school in Budaors, Hungary. She's promised to Skype us and maybe she'll even teach us more Hungarian words! If your child can say thank you in Hungarian and tell you the name of the ocean Eszter flew over to get to Manson, leave the answers on my comment section. I'll have prizes for the correct answers! :)Mrs. Godwinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16016174411327081316noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8883299167586371306.post-7180862209993171472010-09-15T22:22:00.000-05:002010-09-15T22:22:06.175-05:00September!

Make a slideshow

Mrs. Godwinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16016174411327081316noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8883299167586371306.post-47841020370792851602010-08-28T19:20:00.003-05:002010-08-28T19:25:58.028-05:00We're LOVIN' Optional!!

We were able to attend the MNW Flag Raising Ceremony, chased a gingerbread man through the halls of MNW, celebrated THREE birthdays with yummy treats, learned about F.A.M.I.L.Y. bus and school behavior, played letter catch, and also read some awesome books! I've posted a few photos of our first days together. Our classroom rules and procedures were introduced with the book, Have You Filled a Bucket Today? Please ask your child if they can tell you what a bucket filler is! They WILL know! :) If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me and I will be happy to help you! I hope you enjoy the photos.... :)Mrs. Godwinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16016174411327081316noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8883299167586371306.post-47756365853775908742010-08-11T01:05:00.004-05:002010-08-14T02:25:37.317-05:00Welcome to OK! :)I can remember my first principal raving about the smell of a new school year. Confused by her comment, I just smiled and continued working. I now understand her enthusiasm and am looking forward to those exciting scents. The aroma of freshly painted classrooms, sparkling waxed floors and brand-new vinyl backpacks gives me goose bumps! Maybe it's just the thought of a fresh beginning; new students, new parents, new colleagues, new schedules, new learning and new memories to be made. Either way, I am looking forward to the precious smiles, exciting learning and funny stories your children will share with me! I'll be posting many classroom updates, videos and photos to this blog, so please check back often. We're going to have a fabulous year together! :)
